Design and Technology

Our design and technology curriculum is broken down into the following core themes:   Cooking and nutrition; stable structures; programming and electrical systems; mechanical systems and textiles.  Children also spend time learning about famous British and Chinese inventions and their impact on our world today.  In each of these units, children research, design, make and evaluate a meaningful product.

By the time our children finish their primary education, we want them to be confident with the 6 main principles of Design and Technology.   Children are taught to think about the user of their product; the purpose of their product; the product's functionality; to make decisions about their design and to ensure that their product is innovative and authentic.
