Work - I have worked for the NHS throughout my career mainly at London teaching hospitals, NHS London and for the DoH. I was pleased to be able to introduce skill mix at a national level, including creating consultant Allied Health professional roles. I am now retired but volunteer for a number of roles relating to Health and am Chair of Enfield Town Park.
Governor Experience - I am a member of the Governing body at another primary school with similar challenges and in a very deprived area of the borough. I have been a governor for 8 years and joined when the school was in Special measures. The school is now rated good by OFSTED.
I am the vice chair of the GB and the Chair of Finance and also sit on the academic standards committee.
Hobbies & Interests - I have 2 dogs – a 15-year-old and a 3-year-old three-legged dog. They keep me active although the 15-year-old no longer disappears overnight – I am pleased to report. Other interests include my involvement with Health related issues, also a charity looking to create system change in Enfield (funded by 6 major national charities)- reading and doing puzzles of any sort.
Why I want to join the GB at Suffolks - I was initially approached by a neighbour who suggested I became a school Governor at the first school. I agreed as I thought my previous experience would help the school address some of the very serious challenges. I also, through my health work, was working with the local community and was concerned by the problems the parents and children were facing.
I feel the communities and children need to be offered the best opportunities and this is my reason for wanting to join the GB at Suffolks.
I joined the Governors at Suffolks in 2022 and I am looking forward to working with the team to continue the school’s success in supporting and developing its pupils.
I have lived in Enfield for the last 40 years and worked in University management until I retired. I also volunteer in Enfield libraries and at Enfield Town Football Club and have a season ticket at Spurs.
I believe in the importance of lifelong education to develop opportunities and fulfil abilities and to help us to thrive and enjoy life. Primary schools are key and can make a real practical difference. I will be happy to play a small part in this work at Suffolks.

I was appointed as an LA Governor in July 2020 and currently serve as Co-Chair on the Finance & Premises Committee.
I have two children aged 6 and 3 who are starting their educational journey so naturally, I have a keen interest in children's education. I volunteer to be a governor because I want to contribute positively to my community.
Currently, I work as an Office Manager in a large secondary school and I am a qualified school business manager. I was a Trustee for a small charity in Islington for a number of years before resigning to raise my family, this is my first governorship.
My hope is that I can use the knowledge and experience I have to ensure all pupils at Suffolks get the best educational experience/achievement possible.
