PSHE

At Suffolks, we know that PSHE is an integral part in creating confident and enthusiastic learners.  PSHE lessons support building the children's well-being and mental health, which in turn, removes some barriers that the children may have with their learning.  Through our teaching, we aim for children to know how to communicate effectively; build positive relationships; express themselves and to regulate and understand their emotions.  We know that a well sequenced PSHE curriculum helps our children to build a sense of the world around them as well as giving them the emotional intelligence and safety knowledge to navigate the wider world beyond primary school.

At Suffolks, we use the JIGSAW PSHE scheme of learning to support with our planning and delivery of the PSHE curriculum.  Teachers follow the JIGSAW PSHE scheme to ensure that their sequence of lessons build on prior learning and pave the way for future learning.   Each half term, we hold a PSHE assembly to introduce the new unit of work and to sing an associated song.    We hold weekly values assemblies which are used to celebrate the children who have demonstrated the school's values as well as the learning objective for the corresponding PSHE lesson.
