Free School Meals

We would encourage any parent who believes they may be entitled to claim free school meals for their child to do so. As well as ensuring that their child receives a hot meal, there are also a number of benefits for the school in relation to the number of pupils receiving free meals. Additional funding can often be obtained which can be for the benefit of all our young people and so we strongly urge any parent who is entitled but not currently claiming, to contact the school.

All contacts will be treated in strict confidence and the school can even provide support for parents in completing the relevant documentation.

You are entitled to free school meals where parents are receiving one of the following:

  • Income support
  • Income -based Job Seeker's Allowance
  • Employment and Support Allowance (IR)
  • Supported under part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • Child Tax Credit, provided that your annual income is less than £16,190
  • The guarantee element of State Pension Credit

Unfortunately, those receiving Working Tax Credit cannot apply. If you would like to apply for free school meals, please print off the application form and return it to the School Office with proof of entitlement.
